KentuckyMeasured Progress partners with the Kentucky Department of Education on the Commonwealth Accountability Testing System (CATS) for the Kentucky Core Content Test (KCCT) and the Writing Portfolios. KCCT is a standards-based assessment system designed to test approximately 650,000 students each year in grades 3 through 12 in reading, mathematics, science, social studies, arts and humanities, practical living and vocational studies, and on-demand writing. For the Writing Portfolio component, Measured Progress also assists the Kentucky Department of Education with the development of materials and training for the writing portfolio, and conducts an audit of local scoring. Students in grades 4, 7, and 12 are required to submit a writing portfolio. In spring 2007, the CATS Online administration powered by iTest from Measured Progress was provided for students requiring testing accommodations. With CATS Online, students are able to make use of assistive technology software such as text and screen readers as prescribed by their IEP or 504 plans. CATS Online will continue to be offered for students requiring an online accommodation. Limited implementation of online testing for the general assessment begins in the fall of 2008.
