Research

We are committed to being an active member of the learning community by designing, implementing, and disseminating research results that will further our collective knowledge. In addition, we facilitate collaboratives between districts and states, as well as with universities, to explore cutting-edge issues related to assessment and learning for students with special needs.

Some of the research initiatives that we’d gladly discuss with you are:

  • Reliability and validity studies
  • Analysis of accommodations for both paper and computer-based general assessments
  • Use of different scoring rubrics to compare results
  • Alternate assessment program evaluation studies
  • Analysis of student achievement related to specific disabilities
  • Use of multiple measures in alternate assessment
  • Identification and appropriate assessment of students in the “assessment gaps”
